Before anyone is sent to your business, they are first put through a rigorous induction process. This is to ensure they meet our stringent standards and are ready to add value to your workforce from the moment they arrive.

Host employer safety assessment
Clients are asked to complete a safety assessment that has been developed based on your specific safety requirements. We do this by sending a consultant to your site to perform a host employer safety evaluation prior to engaging candidates.

Candidates register via a cloud-based registration system, which captures personal details, competencies, compliance, certification, financial and medical information. They can also maintain their details over time, be prompted for certificate deadlines, indicate availability, and review payslips at their leisure.

Canex maintains strict policies to ensure all employees are eligible to work in Australia. Our policy is to confirm all foreign candidates have a valid Student or Work Visa, or similar documentation that demonstrates permission to work in this country. They are bound by law to present passports and relevant visas, copies of which are kept on file. We also insist on suitable English language capabilities.

During the induction process we introduce a range of assessment tools that allow us to measure a candidate’s competencies and specific skill sets. These are based on your industry, organisation and the position being recruited.

One unique point of difference in the Canex recruitment process is that before commencing work, all candidates complete a medical questionnaire and are put through a functional capacity and work behaviour assessment.

They are also required to produce all respective licences, tickets and qualifications, with copies attached to each candidate’s file. Our software ensures that candidates with expiring certification are prompted to update, ensuring clients only received certified personnel and are protected from prosecution.

We screen employees for drug and alcohol, both during the induction process and at random times as agreed with clients.

Induction and placement
We go the extra mile by conducting client-specific induction processes so that new on-hire employees arrive job ready and are at their most productive during their time on site.

We provide standard industry safety videos as part of screening and ensure each candidate has the correct PPE before commencing work.

We also conduct a site inspection to ensure the candidate’s OH&S expectations are met.
